This lunchtime, you'll find me swatching and swooning at my nearest Chanel counter: the Autumn collection, États Poétiques, has just landed...and I've been counting down the days.
I've been lucky enough to have had a play with some pieces in advance; we've looked at the nail colours and taken an in-depth look at Orage, so today's post is all about the eyes.
This beauty is the limited edition Les 4 Ombres palette in Poesie, €50, which I'm entirely smitten with (and, if you read my interview with Pixiwoo, you'll know I'm not alone!). The new formula of these quads is divine: buttery, pigmented, and incredibly soft and smooth; so much so, that they almost perform like a cream.
The shades work beautifully together but are also lovely alone or with other products - there's a peachy bronze, golden ivory, delicate pink and a really gorgeous, slightly plummy-toned brown.
The resulting look demands a flick, and Chanel have obliged with a brand new felt-tip liner, Ecritire de Chanel, which comes in black or brown for €33.50.
The black is rich and glossy, and the nib has just enough flexibility to achieve a straight and saturated line. For sheer ease of use, this is my favourite type of eyeliner - and this one has waltzed right in to the #1 slot.
Along with the palette, the collection includes six shades of Ombre Essentielle single shadows, three mattes and three satins - some of which are in rather unexpected colours. Think buttercup yellow (114 Admiration) and raspberry pink (108 Exaltation), which Lisa Eldridge combines for a surprisingly wearable result in this tutorial.
We can also get our hands on four new shades of Rouge Coco Shine lipstick, €31 - the one above is Aura, a glossy blackcurrant, which I haven't worn yet but you can see on Lisa here. Lightweight and lovely, I'm a fan of this formula and am very interested in the nude shade, Intime, or the limited bright pink, Viva.
There are also two glosses (€27): Rose Rêvé, which will be permanent, and the limited edition Songe; with its ethereal iridescent prettiness, this latter is the lipgloss equivalent of Le Vernis in Atmosphere. A blusher in Innocence, €38, rounds out the collection.
I'm snapping up the nail colours: will you be treating yourself too?
