Take Three: Statement Necklaces for Summer

Funny how moods change. First I was obsessed with rings,then with ear-rings, and these days I'm all about the statement necklaces. Which is handy, because the shops are full of them and from what I've seen of the Autumn Winter collections, that's not changing next season either.

Great for adding a bit of colour or interest and generally bringing an outfit to life, a statement necklace is the perfect finishing touch. Here are three of my favourites right now.

ONE I first clapped eyes on this at the Topshop press day (remember this post?) and it was love at first sight. The €50 price tag made me pause for thought, but I felt the fear and did it anyway. I love the chunky white leather cord with the mixed metal details and faux opal beads and I hoped that I'd have it a while - but it's tarnishing already. I'm telling myself it adds character...

TWO  I bought this approximately three seconds after reading this post (thanks Chloe!) and it's been getting a lot of wear since - in fact, you may have spotted it here. It's a light and easy piece and turquoise is a great summer colour - it's so pretty with a tan.  This was just £8 (plus a fiver postage and packaging).

THREE Perfect for injecting a bit of colour into an otherwise simple outfit, I'm obsessed with this bright and beautiful bit of bling. It's working two trends - coral and ethnic - and the best bit? It's a fiver, from Penneys. I KNOW.
