YSL Baby Doll Collection: Mascara Volume Effet Faux Cils Babydoll, Golden Reflections Eyeliner, Rose Babydoll Glossy Stain

New this month from YSL, the Baby Doll collection is all about achieving a fluttery, wide eyed effect, accented with flashes of pink and gold. 

But lest we mistake wide eyed for innocent, YSL have also created a stunnning and provocative ad campaign which is perfectly cast - featuring the equally stunning and provocative Cara Delevingne. If you haven't seen this video yet, you're in for a treat.
 

No matter how hot Cara is (especially wearing the gender-bending Le Smoking), the mascara here is the star of the show - and it's brilliant. It's about big and bold lashes, combined with length, curl and pigment that's blacker than black. 

And it's longlasting too, to last through all your glamorous adventures (if you're anything like Cara) or a full working day (if you're anything like me!).

The rubber brush alternates between thick, widely spaced bristles and ones which are smaller and closer together, so that it can grab and coat lashes of every length and size. The effect is intense and dramatic; in these pictures, I've used just the one coat but it can be easily built up. It's €32.50.

I've teamed it here with the Eyeliner Babydoll 15 in Golden Reflections,€31.00, one of five shades released to complement the new mascara. This shade is limited edition, along with Rose Babydoll, which I've read lots about and seen up and close and personal, looking stunning on a blue eyed blonde.

For my colouring though, Golden Reflections is ideal - I love a flash of gold liner in the sunshine and this one, with its bronzey undertones, is probably the most flattering and wearable I own.

Echoing the fuchsia scrawl on the golden mascara wand, YSL have also released a limited edition glossy stain with the collection. Rouge Pur Couture Vernis a Levres in Rose Babydoll. This is €29 and beautiful - I'm a big fan of these gloss/stain hybrids and find them brilliant for when you want lasting colour that you don't need to keep topping up.

They're not drying like other longwear products can be and this shade is incredibly pretty and vibrant, especially worn with the liner and mascara, and very little else (on my FACE mum, jeez).
