Fancy A Cuppa? Oolong Flower Power Hits The Spot!

After years of coffee domination in Dublin, tea parlours are having their day. There’s the hippy hangout, Tea Gardens, on the quays, as popular for its shisha pipes as its cuppas. I’m more taken with Clement Pekoe on South William Street, which does a mean White Rosemary & Lemon Tea.

And now there’s Oolong Flower Power, Dublin’s newest –and largest – tea parlour serving up more than 300 varieties and a tasty selection of cakes, sandwiches and hot food, too.

Prices are decent at €5.50 for a generous sandwich, €4.50 for a soup or from €7.50 for something more substantial – when we were there, options included lamb tagine and fish cakes.

Coffee’s available too but the tea is the main attraction, and there is a lot to love about the huge variety on offer. From artisan blooming teas (€3.95 a pot or €6.50 for 50 g to take away; pictured below) to white, black, red and even yellow varieties, there should be something here for all palettes.

The Yogi Tea Lemon & Ginger – the most intensely citrussy tea I’ve ever encountered – comes highly recommended.

Oolong Flower Power can be found on 4 Stephen Street Lower, Dublin 2 – check out the website for more.
