Bourjois Summer 2014: Not Just For Summer (Phew)!

Eek, I thought, with the recent dip in temperatures, have I left it too late to tell you about the Bourjois summer releases?

But then I realised that those clever French beauty brains have given us plenty that will take us into Autumn and beyond. So that’s alright, then.

Let’s start with the new shades of the Bourjois Contour Clubbing Waterproof Pencils. As well as your staple black and brown, these now come in a host of showstopping shades including purple, pink and this gorgeous turquoise shade, Dynamint, for €6.99 a pop.

While these are gorgeous on the beach – the formula is excellent, they go on smoothly and once set, don’t budge or smudge – their waterproof nature makes them a brilliant pick for the waterline, at any time of year. Plus, with the 60s being a massive story for autumn, the bright colours really fit in to that trend.

The brand's cream blushes are lovely little products: they’re simple to use, and come in a range of soft, pretty shades - which now include Tropical Coral, pictured, and the more bronze-toned Pink Sunwear, both €10.49.

There’s a little bit of shimmer going on in the one I have, but it’s not sparkly on the skin (I'm wearing it in the first photo) - and the hint of spice in the shade makes it very autumn appropriate.

I’ve saved the best for last with the lip products - especially these two new shades of the frankly brilliant Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet liquid lipsticks.

Grand-Cru is a stunning burgundy red, which is an Autumn/Winter staple, while Nude-ist is a pretty rosewood and great for everyday – plus, it gives a nod to the more minimalist and ladylike looks we’ve seen on the AW14 catwalk. These are €12.49 and definitely deserve a place in your beauty bag.

The final piece I was given, the 3D gloss in Or Feeric, €10.49, with its sparkling gold microshimmer, is not only perfect for the beach but for (whisper it) party season too; a dab on the centre of your lipstick will also give you a pretty, plumped up pout for a big night out.

So yes, this is all lovely stuff for summer but no need to put it away just yet.
