Clinique Jenna's Essentials All About Shadow Quad: Review, Pics, Swatches

One of 8 new All About Shadow quads, Jenna's Essentials palette by Clinique is a very special little set of shadows selected by Jenna Menard, the brand's Global Colour Artist.

Clinique Jenna's Essentials Eyeshadow Quad

Housed in a slim, silver topped compact, the quad is a lovely and elegant piece of kit which comes with a decent sized mirror and two foam topped applicators (which I chucked straight into the bin, in favour of my own brushes).

The shades themselves are fantastic: this is a really good edit of colours that will take you through from day to night with ease. There's a matte white, shimmery sand, matte mid brown and a showstopper of a blackened green, shot through with emerald sparkle.

This palette gives you plenty of options. By day I layer the sandy shade over the brown, which I also use in my brows. If I'm wearing a bright lip, the white shadow alone, with a few coats of mascara, is enough. By night, adding the green to the crease/outer c, and the white to the inner corner, kicks things up a notch or two - though the green also looks great on its own, with a lot of smudgy black kohl.

Here I'm wearing all but the white, layered up, and teamed with Rimmel Notting Hill Nude lippie over Rimmel Spice lipliner for a very 90s inspired look (I've been obsessed since that MAC masterclass!).

The quality of the shadows is stellar: they're buttery soft, blend brilliantly and offer great colour payoff with virtually no fallout. I have lots of love for Jenna's Essentials and can see myself turning to it more and more over the winter months.  Plus, at €34, it represents better value than many of the luxury palettes on the market (for example, while also lovely, the YSL City Drive quads are €49.50).

Are we liking?
