Despite recent flirtations with daintier, more delicate jewels, a statement necklace will always have my heart. This chunky necklace from Oia Jules is my latest love - the LA based designer, Elizabeth Schricker, works with agate stones, meaning that each piece is entirely unique.
They come in a rainbow of colours; mine is blue agate on a gold plated chain, with a toggle fastening to keep it secure on the neck. Despite its chunky drama, it's a very wearable piece of jewellery that works best with the more simple pieces in my wardrobe: I love wearing it with a plain white shirt, as I am here, or with a plain cotton tee.
This piece was courtesy of Red Ruby Rouge, a Northern Irish online boutique focusing on new and emerging designers worldwide. They offer a lovely edit of interesting and unique clothes and accessories but it's their jewels that have stolen my heart - I am seriously coveting several of their Friedasophie gemstone rings.
