Transeasonal Makeup: Classic and Pared Back

As you might have spotted in recent posts, I'm favouring quite a classic look these days. With the unseasonably cold weather, spring's candy colours just haven't felt quite right – but I don’t want to revert to the darker, vampier colours of autumn and winter, either.

Classic makeup look

A more classic look offers the perfect transeasonal effect  – I’ve been going for barely there colours teamed with natural skin and a flick of black liner.

Bright lippies are taking a backseat and instead I’ve been raiding my stash for delicate and understated pinks. One of my current favourites is this Art Couture lipstick from Artdeco’s latest collection, Tribal Sunset. Out this month, it features a soft colour palette of earthy tones through to corals and bronze.

This shade, Summer Flower, is a soft and natural peachy pink, with a warm golden shimmer running throughout. It has a pearl finish, which I’m not usually fond of, but by paring back everything else I quite like it.

Elsewhere I’m wearing my current favourite BB cream from Clarins, Boots No 7 eyeshadow in Wheatsheaf, the Chanel mascara I told you about, and a new Dior felt tip pen eyeliner. They are all press samples which I've recently been trialling, and I'm liking it all so far.

Tell me, do you change your makeup with the seasons, or stick to a tried and tested look year-round?
