Despite an amazeballs long-lasting mani (more on that anon), after a week in the sun, my paws felt drier than this little guy's. That, plus the need to stave off the back-to-normality blues, saw me treat my hands to the ultimate DIY pamper session when I got home from the airport this week.
Removing my remaining polish with the Bourjois Magic Nail Polish Remover was the first step; magic by name and magic by nature, this turns a chore into a quick and easy pleasure and smells delightfully fruity to boot.
Next up: the One Minute Manicure, a nutrient-packed scrub that leaves hands feeling supple and smooth, thanks to the mix of exfoliating salts and nourishing oils in the formula. My tub is more than two years old and is about a quarter full; for €20 I think that's pretty good going and would definitely repurchase.
L'Occitane's Shea Butter Nail & Cuticle Nourishing Oil, €14, was the next step and is hands down (no pun intended) the best cuticle product I've tried. With 30% shea oil in the mix, this brushes on easily, absorbs quickly and, most importantly, nourishes the feck out of your cuticles and nails.
A coat of Sally Hansen's Nailgrowth Miracle, purporting to be a salon strength treatment for longer, healthier nails is next, followed with my favourite spring polish - YSL La Laque Couture Spicy #41 in Eau de Rose, which I raved about on Frillseeker here.
A sparkly accent nail of Maybelline's Colour Show Brocade in Knitted Gold was added, just because it makes me smile, and a dollop of Seche Vite's top coat to seal everything into place. This stuff is literally lifechanging - buy it, buy it now!
Finally, a thin layer of the sinfully expensive but really rather good Beauty Skin Treat Hand Serum, from B-Line, finishes things off. This has an instant, cosmetic effect - making everything look lighter, brighter and tighter - but is also a treatment product, working on reducing sun damage, including visible sun spots, over time. It feels fabulous - light, silky and rapidly absorbed - but at €59 I'm on the hunt for cheaper alternative. Any ideas?
Aaaand...talons tamed; now, to take care of the rest of this sun-ravaged wreck...!
