Roger & Gallet Fleur De Figuier Ultra Nourishing Oil Review; Spoiler: It's Divine!

Roger & Gallet Fleur De Figuier Ultra Nourishing Oil

Like champagne and strawberries, moonlight and music or, um, reading and crisps,  fig scents with sunshine is just one of those combos that works.

I like my fig to smell a little fresh, a little green and a little musky, so it was a given I'd fall for the Roger & Gallet Fleur de Figuier Fresh Fragrant Water when it launched last year (read about it here). This summer, the love affair continues, with the new Ultra Nourishing Oil, €26.95 for 100ml.

It's not just the fragrance (light, zesty and delicious) that makes this the perfect warm weather pick: oils are, hands down, my favourite body hydrators in the heat. Much lighter on your skin than a rich body butter, this one feels luxurious, is rapidly absorbed, intensely nourishing, seals hydration into the skin and leaves limbs with a pretty summery sheen - without feeling remotely greasy.

A blend of 10 plant oils including apricot, almond, avocado and grape seed oil, the ingredients here won't just moisturise your skin and make it more supple - they're packed full of antioxidants and anti-ageing properties, too, like vitamins A, E, F and K. Plus, there are no parabens, silicones, colouring agents or mineral oils in the mix.

As oils penetrate better on slightly damp skin, I use the Fleur de Figuier Ultra Nourishing Oil straight from the shower, after lathering up with the co-ordinating shower gel. As a side note, the brand's shower products, €9.90 for 200ml, are some of my favourites; not only is the fragrance range amazing but they're free from soap and sulphates, while still lathering up into a luxe and creamy foam.

The nozzle makes for speedy application and, as with all my favourite body oils, I run the excess through my hair and rub it into cuticles so I never waste a drop. I've also been drizzling it into my baths and it looks gorgeous with a drop or two smoothed over a faux glow, too.

Layering the products helps lock in the scent so it lasts much longer, and to keep the party going, I also keep a little purse spray of the fragrance in my bag.

Look for the brand in chemists, M&S Beauty Halls or online at Feel Unique. The products are genuinely lovely and represent good value for the level of efficacy and luxury you receive.
