Joanne Larby is one busy lady: as one of Ireland's leading makeup artists, curvy models and stylists, not to mention a top Irish beauty blogger and YouTube guru, I am absolutely thrilled she has made time to share her holiday makeup essentials with us today. Take it away Joanne!
Packing for holidays is a task I thoroughly enjoy; I think it gives my organisational OCD a real chance to shine and putting together my toiletries has become a ritual I relish in. When traveling, multi-use products is key: they minimise on space, and make getting ready a simplistic task after a day of bathing in the sun!
YSL Le Teint Touch Eclat is my holy grail Summer skin foundation; everything from the luxurious packaging and price point to the flawless dewy finish and scent is top notch.
Free from all the nasties with an SPF 19 and illuminating properties that highlight your best points yet conceal your flawed and shadowed areas, everything about this foundation screams high-end. Long wearing with coverage that gives a gorgeous glow without having to worry about shine; the perfect holiday base in my opinion.
Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick Compact in Bronze is a must on my holibops. This award-winning multi-use compact contains five shimmering bronzey shades. The beauty about this baby, especially when travelling, is you can wear it swept over the high points of the face for a golden glow, or use the shades individually as eye shadows and highlighters.
The Stila Convertible Colours are ingenious; a blush and lipstick in one, they add a creamy colourful tint and radiant glow to both areas. The packaging is fabulously feminine and the convenient mirrored compact makes touch ups a doddle. My favourite shades are Gerbera, the perfect rose and Gladiola a bright yet wearable orange, both divine especially when worn in warmer climates.
The Inglot AMC Gel Liners are another amazing multi-use product: these are affordable, waterproof, high intensity pigments that provide immediate coverage and rich colors with just one sweep. They can be used as eyeliners, but I also use the brown shade (90) to fill in my brows, ensuring they last all day in warmer weather. These can also be run through your lashes to give an all day tint, skipping on mascara. After application they dry in 60 seconds and don't budge or crease; what's not to love?
Lastly, Clarins Instant Light Natural Lip Perfectors are a holiday pout product staple for me. These terrific tubes contain a creamy gloss that smells superbly sweet and offer a natural sheen with added benefits. Not only do these glosses plump the lips, they can be worn alone or on top of any colour to give a muted finish, they also nourish, repair and protect lips. The foam applicator provides the perfect amount of product and applies smoothly to the lips, Apricot and Petal Shimmer are my most worn.
