Chanel CC Cream Complete Correction SPF 30 Review and Pictures

Having spent the morning jumbling through my stash to prep for a disappointing products video (you know I'm on YouTube now, right?), I realised it would probably be a really boring watch: it would be absolutely jammed with sub-par BB and CC creams.

Chanel CC Cream

A really good one is rarer than hens teeth - of the hundreds of these skincare/makeup hybrids that I've tried, I can count my favourites one hand. But I'll keep trying, because I am hooked on that elusive, glowing, 'my skin, but better' effect you get when you finally hit on the perfect one.

And the Chanel version is almost as good as it gets.

It's available in just one shade, Beige 20 (which is why I've said almost, above). The €50 price-tag will be another stumbling block for some. But in some cases you still get what you pay for, and the highstreet just can't compete with high-end when it comes to products like this.

Suitable for all skin types, the texture is rich, thick and creamy, but feels light and hydrating on the skin. There are anti-ageing ingredients in the mix, along with hyaluronic acid, to keep skin feeling comfortably moisturised throughout the day. Plus, there's a mineral sunscreen with an SPF of 30, to block both UVA and UVB rays.

It's incredibly easy to apply: I use my fingers, which warms the product nicely and makes it easy to blend into my skin. I start with a small amount and, on bad skin days, add another layer or two where needed - it's thankfully easy to build and control the coverage.

I hate that really moist finish you get with some BB or CC creams and it's blessedly absent here - the finish is semi-matte, but with a lovely radiance that lifts and brightens my skin. It does a great job at evening out my complexion, toning down the redness around my nose, as well as minimising my dark under-eye circles.

I'm impressed with its lasting powers, too - it takes me through a working day with ease, and if I'm heading out afterwards, I love to top it with a  light dusting of Chanel's new powder foundation, Vitalumiere Compact Douceur.

Chanel kept us waiting with this one - they don't have a BB cream in their range, and took their time introducing the CC to the western market.

But boy, was it worth the wait.

Tell me, have you tried this - or do you plan to?
