Becca Matte Skin Shine Proof Foundation: Review and Photos
Thank the baby jebus that rumours of Becca's demise have been greatly exaggerated -the cult Australian brand has undergone some changes, including a tightening of their distribution channels, but is alive and well and even expanding its product line.
Fans of their Shimmering Skin Perfector - one of the loveliest liquid highlighters I've ever used - will be excited to hear about the new powder version which is every bit as fabulous. But that's for another day - for now I'm sharing a really great foundation pick for oilier skins, especially as we head into the cooler weather.
I loved BB/CC creams for spring and summer but, as the seasons change, so does the makeup mood. Autumn colours look amazing against a more perfected base, which works better with this season's more grown up, sophisticated looks. And personally, I need a little more coverage at this time of year to combat the extra redness in my skin from wind, central heating etc.
But what I don't want is to look or feel like I'm wearing a lot of heavy make up, and Becca's Matte Skin Shine Proof Foundation is the perfect compromise - it's a light-to-medium coverage product that is really effective at mattifying the skin and controlling shine throughout the day.
It's €42, which is a significant investment - but for your money, you get a shade range of 18 colours, catering from the palest ivory to the deepest chocolate (I was sent Buff, which is perfect for me). It's a brilliant choice for the working day: you get a comfortable, real-skin-finish that feels featherlight, but keeps oily skin under control for a good 8 hours or more.
You'll find Becca online, including Mise Beauty or BeautyMatters.ie, or at Space NK in the Dundrum Town Centre. Have you tried this, or anything like it?
