LA Creative Beauty Salon, Dublin: Review

Ok, so, I knew about the LA Creative Make Up Training Academy, but until they got in touch, I had no idea that they had opened a beauty salon right across the road on Dublin’s Chatham Street.

I popped in on a lovely sunny evening and was quite taken with the view from the upstairs  manicure station –sit there for long enough and all of Dublin must walk past its windows.  Also upstairs is a nice edit of beauty bits for sale, from LA Creative’s own brand to Essie, Ciate, Xen Tan and more.

Head downstairs for the vibrating pedicure chairs, make up stations and – a lovely touch - selection of classic movies on the widescreen TV.

I had a mini mani and pedi using Essie’s Blanc on my toenails (a key summer trend, donchknow!) and Fifth Avenue on my fingers. Despite the mini in the mani, I was impressed with the attention to detail and with how groomed and neat my hands looked afterwards. I’ve since switched up the colour on my hands, but Blanc is still going strong on my toes!

Other services include spray tans (€30), makeup application (from €25), threading (€15 – highly recommended!) and a lash bar (from €15). I’d also be keen to try the braid bar (from €15), as my own attempts at a dramatic side fishtail have proved, umm, let’s just go with ‘challenging’ and leave it at that.

Whether you have a party or a hen night to organise, are in desperate need of some pampering or just want to get dolled up before a night on the town, the LA Creative salon offers a chic, relaxing space in which to do it. I'd highly recommend.
