Sally Hansen Exotica Collection for Spring 2013

When I heard that Sally Hansen’s spring range was called Exotica, I imagined a vividly punchy collection of in-yer-face, eye-watering brights. But the seven-strong collection, part of the Complete Salon Manicure range, is actually more subtly rendered than I’d expected.

The shades, inspired by retro tropical prints, all have a powdery, faded vibe – as if they’ve been bleached a little in the warm spring sunshine (not the IRISH sun, obviously. Insert bitter laughter here).

The new shades are (from left to right in the first image): Sgt. Preppy, Shore-ly, Tahitian Sunset, Vitamin Sea, Palm Treat, Evening Glow and Go Bananas. Launching this month, they’re limited edition and retail at the usual price of €8.95.

Sally Hansen Go Bananas

I had my nails painted with the slightly shimmery, pale yellow of Go Bananas, with an accent nail of the turquoise Vitamin Sea, topped with Mermaid’s Tale from the permanent line. It’s the prettiest deep blue topcoat, with teal and emerald glitter.

You might have spotted this mani - clutching a cocktail - in yesterday's post!
I admit to being just a little obsessed with the Complete Salon Manicure range – the shades are great, the wide brush is so easy to work with, and the bottles are massive and elegantly designed.

The most gorgeous nail art at the launch - I really want stiletto shaped nails!
Do you have (m)any bottles in your stash?
