I absolutely love cream eyeshadows and am slowly but surely building up quite the collection (is anyone reading even remotely surprised?!). As one of the biggest trends this year is texture, we'll see a lot more creams, glosses and liquid products headed our way, which is great news - the best ones are fuss-free, easy to apply (fingers are often best) and are really longwearing, too. Plus, they layer beautifully with powder products to add extra interest, depth, dimension or an added punch of pigment to any look.
Some of my current favourites are these Pure Colour Stay-On Shadow Paints from Estee Lauder. Nine of these babies are on counter from this month but you'll want to be quick, because they're here for a limited time only. They're priced at €23, which is justifiable - they can be used on their own, as a primer, to intensify a powder product or to line your eyes.
I was sent these three before Christmas, so I've had a decent amount of play time with them and am really impressed. They last and last with no creasing, and they're so easy to use. I haven't done much with Extreme Emerald (yet) but Halo has become my go-to base colour, and Cosmic is one of my favourite products at the moment for a quick and easy smoky eye. It's a pretty bronze with a hint of burgundy and has just the right amount of sparkle and shimmer.
If you're wondering about how to combine creams and powders check out this great video from The Guardian's Sali Hughes, about cheating your way to the perfect smoky eye.
