The Chanel Spring 2013 Couture show took place in Paris this week and today I wanted to share a few of my favourite looks. Against a backdrop of woody forests came a parade of feathered head-pieces, framed shoulders, exquisite tailoring, and the most breath-takingly beautiful full-length gowns. The colour palette featured black, white, navy and multi-coloured florals - and the final look? Twin brides – in clear support of the current proposal to legalise gay marriage in France. I'm totally with Karl: why is there even a debate?
As for the beauty, messy updos were the order of the day (YAY!), along with slightly mad looking, gothic eyes – complete with feathery black lace appliqués – and soft pink lips and cheeks. Chanel’s nails are always closely scrutinised by the beauty world, and here we saw peachy nude fingers and dark navy toes - cementing both as massive trends for spring.
What did you make of the collection?
